Cogges farm is arguably one of the most historic locations in the UK, with over 1000 years of history. Cogges Farm appears within the Doomsday book of 1086, with a history timeline dating from the 500’s. The earliest known owner of Cogges dates to the Saxon period.
The manor stood originally by the River Windrush. Cogges Castle was also defended by moat and islands, where the timber play fort and zip wire stand. Cogges was once held by the kings of England including Henry VII and Henry VIII; who then gave the land to Thomas Pope, the founder of Trinity College Oxford.
Naturally with a building and land as old as Cogges is there will always be reports of paranormal activity. This has not only been witnessed by visitors to Cogges but also staff themselves that work there. Staff have reported the figure of a lady that wonders the hallways, to which most believe this likely to be Lady de Grey. This would link in with the timeline of 1241 when Walter de Grey, Archbishop of York bought Cogges. Formerly Dunston Isabel became Isabel Grey, she was born in 1224 and died in 1275 aged 51. The date and location of her marriage to Walter de Grey is unknown.
The Paranormal Hunts team have investigated Cogges on a number of occasions and have captured some incredible moments at this location from subtle knocks, bangs and footsteps to clear lady’s voice captured on EVP and doors physically closing themselves without any real natural cause. Cogges Farm is a very popular event and is a location that always seems to deliver something each time we visit. The top floor of the Manor, the first room at the very top of the stairs always seems to be the room all our guests have said they feel is the most intense and as beautiful as Cogges is inside and out, it certainly makes you feel very on edge the moment the lights go out. It is a location that we have seen make grown men run at times.
Fancy joining us? Come and experience what many guests already have. Will you experience the presence of the spirits that are said to reside here? Cogges Farm and Lady de Grey await your visit.

In the railway village, stories of ghostly figures, noises and voices have been reported by investigators. Some believe these spirits may be former railway workers who met untimely ends from injuries on the job.
Even the cricketers pub has been reported of experiencing paranormal activity.
